"To die would be an awfully great adventure"
-peter pan-
that was one of peter pan's greatest line in the book written by J.M Barrie. All this time, i always intrepret the line as something that related to death and as much as i love peter pan, i cant find myself quoting that line since death is something i do not wish to regard lightly.
however, as i read the book all over again these few days, i found another meaning to those words. a deeper one, i believe.
you see, to die would be an awfully great adventure in my humble opinion, may be seen as something heartbreaking. something that anger or sadden a person. as i lay on my bed, i realised that die isnt just death. For me, it may be seen as a bad news like having a fight with your best friend of 10 years, to reach the end of one's marriage or even getting a bad exam result as well as other bad things that happened to us.
those tragedies though may not seem so tragic may be interpreted as death. perhaps not as big as a real death but often we feel our heart break and sunk at the thought of those bad, sad things, no?
i have gone through a few heartbreaking moments this sem break. nothing major but still, those events still manage to make my heart break everytime i think about it. for example, my exam results. i thought it was okay, but you know, parents. :) its in their job scope to make sure their child wont get too comfortable in life so yeah, now i do regard my exam result as a tragedy. i even tweeted that i shall mourn for the death of my dream result. But now, i know. To die (as in getting an average pointer) is an awfully great adventure :) those frustrations and disappointment is an awfully great feeling to experience
:) you feel me?
heh. anyway, sem 2 starts next week. and im beyond excited for it ^^ cant wait to feel those frustrations when i couldnt get what the lecturer is talking, those scary feelings when i forgot bout assignments even the butterflies in my stomach while waiting in line to present chapters and things :)
so yeah, i found a deeper meaning to peter's line and im happy bout it. think bout it and maybe you'll see things the way i do :)
take care.
:)
